In July 2020, I began contacting several of the major freight delivery companies such as FEDEX, UPS, AIRFREIGHT about utilizing our Lebanon, TN airport, as a more cost-effective way to move smaller cargo loads of freight.
For example, FEDEX already utilizes freight aircraft requiring less than 5000 feet of runway space, which is the length of our current airport runway. Their ATR 72-600 is but one in their current "Feeder" aircraft fleet we can accommodate.
With the explosive growth in E-Commerce, all freight companies are expanding to meet the demand. "Feeder" aircraft delivery is perfect for our airport.
Our Lebanon airport already has private freight trucking and warehouse companies in proximity.
I'm sure these companies will readily accommodate the increase in business.
If, during Phase 1 negotiations, we haven't entered into an exclusive agreement with an airfreight company, I will then open negotiations to "partner" with airfreight corporations to expand our runways, and accommodate what I expect will be a huge freight increase during the next 25 years.
Naturally, part of the agreement will be the capital expenditure from the freight company, so Lebanon taxpayers are not burdened with the cost, just the prosperity.
Elect me your next mayor; I will get things done, for YOU!
Lebanon has been standing still, long enough!
